Itinerary

Enjoy a warm meet-and-greet as you land at Heydar Aliyev International Airport. Following this, enjoy a hassle-free transfer to your accommodation in Baku. Settle into your room and plan the rest of the day at your leisure.

Start your day with a fulfilling breakfast and then step out to experience Baku’s astonishing diversity. The first stop is the atmospheric Old City (locally called Icheri Sheher), which is Baku’s historic heart. See ancient walls, wander through narrow lanes, and take in centuries-old architecture. This UNESCO-listed quarter is also home to two of Baku’s most legendary landmarks, such as the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and the Maiden Tower.

Next, prepare to the region’s pulsating modern side with a stroll along Nizami Street. As one of the capital’s renowned shopping and leisure avenues, it is lined with elegant buildings, boutiques, cafés, and restaurants. Continue to nearby Fountains Square, a lively gathering spot where beautiful fountains and bustling surroundings create a distinctly relaxed vibe.

The day gets even more visually striking with a stop at the iconic Heydar Aliyev Center, designed by renowned architect Zaha Hadid. Its sweeping curves and futuristic, fluid form have made it one of Baku’s most recognizable architectural landmarks. Take some time to admire its remarkable exterior and capture memorable photographs before wrapping up your sightseeing for the day. Later, return to your accommodation for a peaceful overnight stay.

After breakfast, get ready to leave Baku behind for a scenic day trip to Gabala, one of the country’s Azerbaijan’s most stunning mountain retreats. One of the first major attractions is Tufandag Mountain Resort, a year-round destination against the backdrop of spectacular Caucasus scenery. Take a cable car ride above the dramatic landscape and soak in sweeping views of the mountains and valleys below. The resort transforms into a snowy playground in winter, with ski slopes and other seasonal activities, while its refreshing mountain setting makes it equally inviting during the warmer months.

The tour extends to Gabala’s serene Nohur Lake, set amid forested hills and majestic mountains. Experience the tranquil side of Azerbaijan, thanks to its picture-perfect surroundings. Slow down, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and capture beautiful photographs before settling in for a comfortable drive back to Baku.

Today, you’ll set out to discover the astounding Absheron Peninsula, where the country’s centuries-old fire traditions come to life. The major draw is a stop at Ateshgah, the iconic Fire Temple of Baku. It once served as a place of worship for Hindus and Zoroastrians. This historic complex still preserves Persian and Indian inscriptions that offer intriguing glimpses into its multicultural past. Walk through its atmospheric courtyard, surrounded by old cells and centered on the distinctive fire altar, while listening to fascinating stories dating back centuries.

The experience continues to Yanar Dag, also known as the “Burning Mountain.” Not to mention, it’s one of Azerbaijan’s most extraordinary natural sights. You’ll see flames fueled by underground natural gas that have burned continuously along the hillside for centuries, creating an almost surreal spectacle against the rugged landscape. It also offers a memorable reminder of why Azerbaijan is famously known as the “Land of Fire.” As the tour ends, a return transfer to Baku is arranged.

After breakfast and hotel check-out, join your driver for a comfortable transfer to the airport. Rest assured that you’ll arrive at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in time for your flight. Bid farewell to the Land of Fire, taking home wonderful memories of your Azerbaijan holiday.
