Itinerary

Upon a smooth landing at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku and a warm meet-and-greet, our friendly representative will transfer you to Gabala on a serene drive. Be in awe as the bustling city landscape gradually gives way to the country’s quaint countryside and untouched mountain scenery. When you arrive, check in to your hotel. With no plans to rush into today, spend the remaining hours at your pace; unwind in your room, breathe in the refreshing mountain air, or head out for a leisurely first glimpse of Gabala.

Wake up to a beautiful morning in Gabala before relishing breakfast at the hotel and then checking out for a day filled with mountain allure. First, head to Tufandag Mountain Resort for a cable car ride that takes you high above the landscape, rewarding you with spectacular views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. Depending on the season, you can ski and enjoy other winter activities. The next stop is at Nohur Lake, blissfully tucked away against a striking mountain backdrop. Take a moment to admire the reflections on the lake, absorb fresh air, and immerse yourself in the tranquil beauty of the surroundings. Finally, settle in for the return journey to Baku, where you’ll check in to your hotel and relax for the night.

The entire day is dedicated to discovering the country’s two completely different sides. Begin in Baku’s Old City (Icheri Sheher), where time stands still. Stroll its atmospheric lanes and make a stop for photographs at the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and Maiden Tower, both part of this UNESCO-listed historic quarter. As you proceed to the energetic Nizami Street, watch the city shift to the present. It’s a shoppers’ favorite and a must-experience for its unmatched urban vibe. You’ll also tour Fountains Square, where cafés, fountains, and the buzz of everyday life create a relaxed contrast to the Old City. Experience Baku’s avant-garde side at the Heydar Aliyev Center. Designed by Zaha Hadid, its extraordinary flowing curves make it one of Baku’s most distinctive modern landmarks and a fantastic backdrop for extraordinary photographs. Prepare to see some of the region’s most astounding natural sights as you leave the city behind for the Absheron Peninsula, a landscape deeply attributed to Azerbaijan’s reputation as the “Land of Fire.” Visit Ateshgah Fire Temple, a centuries-old complex that was once frequented by Hindu and Zoroastrian worshippers, and explore its courtyard, historic cells, and distinctive central fire altar. Then continue to Yanar Dag, or the “Burning Mountain.” Flames fueled by underground natural gas flicker continuously across the hillside, making it an unforgettable sight. Afterward, return to Baku for a peaceful overnight stay.

After breakfast at the hotel, venture into Azerbaijan’s ancient past and unspoiled landscapes. It leads to Gobustan, with thousands of prehistoric rock engravings scattered across the rugged terrain. It offers an extraordinary window into lives lived here thousands of years ago. See scenes of people, animals, hunting, and boats etched into stone, which are traces of communities that once called it home. Recognized by UNESCO as the Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape, it’s nothing short of an open-air museum. Prepare for the most thrilling as the tour further takes you to one of the region’s most enigmatic natural wonders, the Mud Volcanoes. Watch as bubbling mud and gases rise through the earth, creating an almost otherworldly scene. Following a day filled with ancient stories and geological marvels, return o Baku for a relaxing overnight stay.

Start your final day in Azerbaijan with a delightful breakfast. When it’s time to check out, complete all formalities and then meet your driver for a relaxed drive to Heydar Aliyev International Airport for your flight home.
